The Kirkendall Neighbourhood Association has sent a letter to the City to express its support for Hamilton's light rail rapid transit initiative.
The letter reads:
The Kirkendall Neighbourhood Association would like to send our support for the development of Light Rail Transport in Hamilton.
We believe that the benefits would include a healthier environment, increased investment and economic development and increased housing in the downtown core. This would contribute so much to the city's vision of revitalization of that area.
As well, traffic congestion would be reduced and there would be increased revenue for the city.
We are committed to doing what we can to improve the standard of living in our neighbourhood and in our community and we believe that Light Rail would contribute to this goal.
